COURSE DESCRIPTION

The 8.2-mile course kicks off at the base of the K-1 Gondola. With 3,010 feet of elevation gain, you’ll end up summiting three of Killington Resort’s six peaks. The course runs counterclockwise, starting from the K-1 Base Area immediately ascending the service road until you hit Bunny Buster. You will go around Snowdon Peak at 3,592 feet before tackling Great Northern and Ridge Run. Here, you will run up Catwalk and give it all you've got to summit Killington Peak at 4,241 feet. After descending a small set of metal stairs, you will arrive at AID STATION #1 at mile 3.16, where you will be greeted with spectacular views of the Green Mountains of Vermont. From there, you will begin your descent on fast service and 4X4 roads, with amazing views the entire way. You will then take the flowy trail of Bear Cub until you reach the base of Needle's Eye. Next, you will make your way up Bearly trail towards one last spicy surprise. At base of Needle’s eye will be AID STATION #2. Needle's Eye is a steep quarter mile finisher with a staggering 45 percent grade climb. After you catch your breath, it is a quick descent down Bittersweet to the finish line at K-1 Lodge, finishing out the race right where you started.
