COURSE DESCRIPTION

The 8.2-mile course kicks off at the base of the K-1 Gondola. With 3,010’ ft of elevation gain, you’ll end up summiting three of Killington Resort’s six peaks. Counter Clockwise course direction, running up from K1 Base Area immediately ascending the service road until you hit Buster Bunny. You will go around Snowden Peak at 3,592’ ft. From there, you’ll tackle The Great Northern Trail & Ridge run. Here you will run the Cat walk & give it all you got to tackle & summit Killington Peak at 4,242’ ft. You will descend a small set of metal stairs and you will be at AID STATION #1 at Mile 3.16  You will be greeted with spectacular views of the Green Mountains of Vermont. From here you will start your way down the mountain over some speedy service and jeep roads.  The entire way down you will have amazing views. You will travel down Bear trax all the way down to Bear Mountain Peak.  You will then take the flowy trails of Bear Cub until you hit AID STATION #2 at Mile 6.6.  You will make your way up Bearly trail to one last spicy surprise.  Needle's Eye is a steep quarter mile finisher with a staggering 45% degree climb. After you catch your breath it is a quick descent down Bittersweet to the Finish Line at K1 where you started. finishing out the race right where you started.

 
 

SAFETY LANGUAGE

The course is steep, rocky, grassy, wet & slippery. You will be pushing hard for the summit, putting yourself to your capacity, lungs, grit, and strength. Please note, we will have the course well marked, it is imperative, for your safety, you follow precise path of flagging. Please be mindful of other competitors, if you encounter an injured competitor please inform the nearest course Marshall, EMT or Rescue Services.  Course is well marked with orange flagging, if you suddenly find yourself on a path without immediate orange flags to indicate the route, please turn around, go back the way you came until you get back on trail with orange flags. 

**Every competitor is subject to a strict cut-off time, at Killington Peak summit, of 1:30 hrs (competitor will take Chairlift back down). We typically see 2-10 people not make cutoff
